Dr. Amesha Hurt graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of Detroit Mercy, She continued her dental education at the same university graduating with honors in 2004 from the School of Dentistry. While there, Dr. Hurt participated in various activities such as President and Vice-President of the Student National Dental Association, member of the American Student Dental Association, participant in the Pierre Fauchard Academy and Michigan Dental Association.
Dr. Hurt is also an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., The American Dental Association and Georgia Dental Association. During her tenure, she has taken part in various continuing education courses. Dr. Hurt acquired her Conscious Sedation Licensure and Implant Placement Certification/Training.
Dr. Amesha Hurt has committed herself to public service and giving back to others. She has volunteered at several community dental screenings, educating grade schools on the importance of dental hygiene and mentoring students about dentistry as a career. However, her biggest focus is time with her husband and family. She has a son and enjoys being a baseball mom and she is the mother of twin girls. She understands that dentistry can be overwhelming for many. She tries to make patients smile while putting them at ease during their dental appointments. Fun fact…Dr. Hurt prefers to go by her maiden name Dr. Edwards.
